Derek Pinto's passion for community living developed at a young age with his involvement in team sports, family camp, scouts, church, theatre, dance, music, charitable organizations, political and student groups. An international traveler, Derek has more than 20 years experience in operations and residential and commercial property management. Having lived and worked in small communities worldwide, he knows and understands the concerns of those living in strata communities.
In addition to the theoretical, Derek also brings practical experience to the table. He has taught governance to national boards, combined multiple policy documents for a national political organization, and worked as a communications specialist all over the world. Additionally, he worked in the science branch of the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and became quite adept at turning complex info into easily digested bits and pieces, easy for everyone to comprehend.
